Collins-Maxwell senior Alexis Houge signed a letter of intent to play softball for DePaul University Nov. 10 at Collins-Maxwell High School in Maxwell.

Collins-Maxwell senior Alexis Houge signed a letter of intent to play Division 1 softball at DePaul University in Chicago Nov. 10 at the Collins-Maxwell High School in Maxwell.

Houge is the daughter of Troy and Trisha Houge of Collins. She follows in the footsteps of her older sister Mikayla, who is a Division 1 pitcher at Virginia.

Houge has been a first-team all-state selection at shortstop all four years she has played high school softball for the Spartans. She has been a part of two state championship teams and a state runner-up and four Iowa Star Conference South Division championships.

In her junior year with Collins-Maxwell Houge hit .551 with two home runs, 25 walks, 53 runs and 56 steals. She also made just one error in 51 chances at shortstop.
