Spartans fall to Comets in regional first round: Robertson had 18 digs and 11 kills in loss

CONRAD - The Collins-Maxwell volleyball team wasn’t able to turn it on in time to get past BCLUW in the Class 1A regional first round Oct. 19.

The Spartans were swept in three sets. They suffered a 25-17 setback in the opener, struggled in the second - falling 25-8 - then played tough in the third before succumbing by  25-22 score.

Collins-Maxwell ended the season with an 8-14 record. The Spartans had 8.3 kills per set at 13.7-percent efficiency with 17.3 digs per set and five total aces against BCLUW.

BCLUW had 39 kills at 23.2-percent efficiency. The Comets also hurt Collins-Maxwell with their serving, recording 15 aces for the match.

Elise Robertson had 18 digs, 11 kills and two aces; Reagan Franzen nine digs, six kills and two blocks and Brooke Christie six kills, five digs and one ace in the final match of their careers for Collins-Maxwell. Kenzi Wierson put up 16 assists, seven digs and one block and kill apiece; Josephine Ross five digs, Sofie Wattonville three digs, Joshlynn Clark two digs and aces apiece, Marissa Boege two assists and one dig and Isabelle Hill two digs and one kill.

Lizzie Garber had 14 kills and 13 assists and Eden Wilson 12 kills for BCLUW.
