COLLINS - The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter softball team claimed the Collins Days Tournament championship with wins over Colo-Nesco and Montezuma Saturday in Collins.

The Raiders - ranked No. 13 in Class 3A - defeated Colo-Nesco by an 11-0 score in five innings. They also handled Montezuma by a 3-1 score to go to 20-7 on the season.

In the victory over Colo-Nesco, the Raiders put up three runs in the first and exploded for seven in the second. CMB tacked on one more score in the third, then coasted to the lopsided win behind strong pitching from Abbey Kahler and Sydney Schmidt.
