CMB’s Ericson places ninth at 3A regoinal meet

AMES — The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter girls’ golf team came in seventh at the Class 3A regional first round meet at the Coldwater Golf and Country Club in Ames Monday.

CMB shot a 467 over 18 holes for the meet. Gilbert won the team title with a 382 and Clarion-Goldfield was the other team to advance to the regional second round after shooting a 393.

Abbie Ericson led CMB individually with a 100 to place ninth overall. Courtney Clapper shot a 117 and Katie Garber and Brynne Pritchard each delivered a 125 as the other counted scores for the Raider girls.

Payton Cory also golfed for CMB. She shot a 126.

Kuemper Catholic’s Alison Schweers was the medalist at the meet with an 88 and Clarion-Goldfield’s Shanee Tate also shot an 88 to take medalist runner-up. Gilbert’s Katie Jenkins and Regan Suntken shot respective rounds of 89 and 94 and Kuemper Catholic’s Courtney Snyder carded a 95 as the other individuals to advance to the second round from the meet.
