Times area sustains heavy rains last Thursday
Story County Emergency Management officials said that the county is collecting information on damages sustained by residents during the storms and flash flooding of June 14. Collecting the information, they say, helps them evaluate the storm sewer system and other types of damages, identify future potential projects to reduce risk to these damages and have the documentation needed to pursue state and federal grant funds for projects. The information is also used to pursue state and federal recovery funds.
To report damages, please go to the Iowa Homeland Security damage reporting system at Iowa Public Damage and Storm Reporting Form (here’s the full URL https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/162782ba447e494a8a82fdae29625fd4 ) to report your damages. The form can be filled out with a smartphone or a computer. If you are making a report from a location other than where the damages have occurred, enter the address of the damaged structure in the box on the map to ensure accurate mapping of the location of damages. Please specify how deep the water was either in the basement or on the first floor and specific high-cost damages such as furnaces or water heater destroyed, electrical system damage, or damage to walls and foundations. At this time there are no state or federal recovery programs activated to provide assistance to individuals.
If you have questions about how to report damages, please call Story County Emergency Management at 515 382 7315 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
