Celebrate National Pollinator Week at Reiman Gardens
Join Reiman Gardens in celebrating National Pollinator Week at our Pollinator Fest on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
There will be many collaborators and fun activities to make sure this day is educational and plenty of fun! Visitors can watch a pollinator video, make pollinator crafts, meet with Plant.Grow.Fly, learn to talk and eat like a honeybee, observe a honeybee hive, find out about native bees, learn about insect stings, develop an appreciation for paper wasps, meet the Iowa Honey Queen, find out more about integrated pest management, learn about butterfly rearing, discover pollinator friendly plants, meet the Ames Students Aiding Pollinators, find out more about monarch butterfly conservation and catch your own pollinator.
Collaborators include the Iowa State University Pollinator Working Group, the ISU Entomology Graduate Student Organization, the ISU Graduates in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology, Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, Blank Park Zoo and Ames High School.
Admission for this event is free for everyone.
