All Fareway locations are raising funds this July to help free kids and adults from muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and related life-threatening diseases.

Through July 23, Fareway will be asking customers to “round-up” to the next dollar on purchases, and donate the difference to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Then on July 22 or 23, A&W Root Beer floats may be purchased to benefit MDA. Please check with your local Fareway on specific dates for float sales. Each year, Fareway teams up with the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group to conduct the Fareway Floats campaign.

“Thanks to the generosity of Fareway’s employees and customers, we can help MDA invest in lifesaving research and support programs for these individuals, so they can live the life they’ve always imagined and experience the world without any limits,” said Erin Steffen, executive director of MDA of Iowa.

Since first teaming up with MDA in 1992, Fareway and their customers have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through golf tournaments, bowl-a-thons, can collections and the annual Shamrocks pin-up program, among many other events, to help MDA provide the families it serves with critical resources and support.

“We are excited to again partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association on the Fareway Floats tradition and Round-Up Campaign,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “Fareway has been a strong supporter of MDA for nearly 25 years, and we are proud to help lead the fight toA free individuals, and the families that love them, from the harmful effects of muscle diseases.”

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to saving and improving the lives of people with muscle disease, including muscular dystrophy, ALS and other neuromuscular diseases.
