Sandy’s serves up its 10,000TH tenderloin

Last year we told you about Sandy’s Grill in Huxley, where owner Sandy Priori’s “Hubcap tenderloins” were nominated by customers to be named Iowa’s Best by the Iowa Pork Producers Association. Even though she didn’t win first place, Sandy’s was a finalist in the contest last year. Priori has sold a lot of tenderloins since she opened her restaurant two years ago and was recently waiting to sell the restaurant’s 10,000th one. That milestone happened Monday when regular customer Chad Borscheim of Kelley, who works at Edward Jones in Huxley, came walking in to make a decision between meatloaf and a tenderloin. By choosing the tenderloin, he hit the 10,000th such purchase for the restaurant and was rewarded with a $50 gift certificate. Priori changed her outdoor signage immediately following the sale. The $50 certificate will come in handy for Borscheim, who enjoys lunch several times a week at the Huxley restaurant. Photo by Marlys Barker
