One Cool Elk

This elk cooled off in a pond at Jester Park near Polk City on a hot day last week. The Polk County Conservation Board manages the 1,675-acre park on the western shore of Saylorville Lake. Both elk and bison can be found at the end of a three-mile drive in the park. The herds have been an attraction at the park for almost four decades. Photo by Barb McBreen
