Miranda Murphy of Alleman, and Alexandra Petersen and Sarah Hugee of Huxley have been named to Wartburg College’s 2016 winter/May term dean’s list. These students earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the two terms.

Two area students were recently honored at Buena Vista University’s student recognition event.

Madeline McCormick, a sophomore digital media major from Huxley, participated in The Otteman Student Research and Internship. Every year at BVU, students have amazing opportunities to complete internships that help prepare them for their careers, do significant research in their discipline and travel nationally and internationally. Many of our students were awarded gift assistance to help assure they could pursue these opportunities. This support is made available through the generous contributions of alumni and friends.

Sydney Sears, a junior biology major from Elkhart, received the Stief Award, established by former superintendent of the physical plant and maintenance, Willard Stief, by his family and friends following his death in 1981. This award recognizes three students who have positively contributed to the community life in the residence halls and is based on leadership, commitment to residence hall life at BVU and scholarship.

Erica Kirgan of Polk City and Joshua Norris of Huxley were named to the Upper Iowa University dean’s list for the 2016 spring semester. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.50 GPA and be enrolled as a full-time student.

Diane Plohocky of Cambridge, Mollie Sheldahl of Huxley and Heidi Senn of Slater all graduated from Mercy College of Health Sciences on April 29. Plohocky received an Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant, Sheldahl received an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology and Senn earned an Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Allen Jensen and Megan Miller, both of Huxley were named to the president’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences. To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a GPA of at least 3.75 in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Mollie Sheldahl of Huxley and Laura Sindt of Polk City were named to the deans’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences. To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a GPA between 3.50 and 3.749 in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Wentworth Military Academy and College is pleased to announce that Brock Mulder has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015-2016 academic year. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with no grade below a C, are named to the dean’s list.

Iowa State University has recognized the following Tri-County area students for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2016 spring semester dean’s list. Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
