North Polk Class of 2016 Graduates

Friends and family packed the North Polk High School gym Sunday, May 29, as 99 seniors graduated from North Polk Community High School. Seniors were dressed in traditional gowns, girls carrying one long stem rose while the boys had a single red rose boutonniere, appropriate with class colors of red, black and silver.

The North Polk High School band, under the direction of Melanie Spohneimer, played the processional “Pomp and Circumstance” by Edward Elgar as the 99 members of the graduating class marched to their seats. The high school choir, under the direction of Scott Growdon, presented a musical selection “Go the Distance” arranged by Lojeski.

Three members for the graduating class, Jaclyn Miller, Suzanna Host and Brandon Albaugh, were the student speakers for the graduation, sharing their thoughts about the past, the present and the future of the Class of 2016.

The Class motto was “Together we have experienced life. Separately we will pursue our dreams. Forever our memories will remain.”
