Summerfest in Ames

The sixth annual celebration of Summerfest will happen Saturday, June 4, from 3-7 p.m. in Campustown. Events will be held in the 200 block of Welch Avenue. Free family activities will include crafts from The Workspace, live music, a root beer tent and more.

Classic Car Day at the Arboretum

This June 5 event is from noon-3 p.m. Car registration (free) is from 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your car or your camera and enjoy an afternoon admiring some of Iowa’s best-loved cars. Classic tunes will help set the mood, and lunch will be available for purchase. This event is free to the public. The Iowa Arboretum is located northwest of Madrid at 1875 Peach Ave.

Learn screen printing

A screen printing class will start on June 6 and be held each Monday for four weeks at The Workspace in Ames. Reed Siems will teach this inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Use your own design to learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required if you want to use our screen printing equipment. Cost of this class, which includes tuition and supplies, is $60 with ISU and $70 for the public.
