Polk City Leaders travel to Washington, D.C.

Polk City Mayor Jason Morse, Councilman Rob Sarchet, Chamber President Kyle Matzen and Polk City Development Director John Calhoun attended the Greater Des Moines Partnership Washington, D.C. Trip, May 11-13.

Over 200 Central Iowa business, civic and regional community leaders traveled to the nation’s capital and presented a public policy agenda to promote regional policy priorities and economic development projects during the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s 37th annual advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. Throughout the three-day trip, participants had the opportunity to advocate for key issues facing the Central Iowa region. Participants met with members of Iowa’s Congressional delegation, the administration and their staff. They also had an opportunity to further educate themselves on policy issues that are important to the region, and network with fellow trip participants.
