Polk City Kiwanis Seniors of the Month for May

Brianna Hines is the daughter of Sherry Robinson of Ankeny and Zack Hines of Des Moines. She has a sister Monica.

Brianna’s favorite school subjects are art, English and psychology, and she is involved in speech and plays. She is in the Art Honor Society and has received an academic letter and speech letter.

After graduation, Brianna intends to go to the University of Northern Iowa to become a high school English teacher.

Elizabeth Madden of Polk City is the daughter of Mary Beth and Bill Erickson, and Mike Madden and Rachel Franklin of Newton. She has two siblings, Jacob and Ryan.

In school, Elizabeth’s favorite subjects are science and English. She takes part in the North Polk Dance team. Elizabeth is a member of DMACC’s dean’s list, has been chosen as an Outstanding Iowa Dancer, and has been the captain of the North Polk Dance team.

Outside of school, she is involved competition and recreational dance.

Elizabeth plans to finish her degree at DMACC in liberal arts, then attend the University of Northern Iowa for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education.

Cody Stoler is the son of Duke and Lea Stoler of Elkhart. He has one sister, Heather.

Cody’s favorite subjects are history, English, science and literature. He has received the Superintendent’s Award for aviation technology and an academic letter. Outside of the classroom, Cody has been involved in Scouting, the Iowa Jeep Club, archery, hunting, fishing and has trained at NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training).

After graduation, Cody will attend Indian Hills Community College for aviation repair, after which he intends to join either the Air Guard or National Guard.
