Story Time Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.
Stroll into the library for stories, crafts, and activities! This month we will be talking about Moms, Dads, Construction and Summer. There will be no Story Time after Memorial Day until the Summer Reading Program begins the week of June 13.
Coffee Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-noon
Join us around the fireplace for a cup of coffee or iced tea.
Sit N Stitch Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.
Bring your current project, and join the stitching around the fireplace.
Men’s Friday Coffee, 10 a.m.-noon
Gentlemen, drop in for some coffee and conversation. Enjoy spending time and having a few laughs or interesting discussions with other men from around the area.
Adult Coloring: Inside the Lines
Thursday, May 19, 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a RELAXING evening. Coloring pages from books designed especially for adults, as well as colored pencils will be provided. Use ours or bring your own! Butterflies, birds and flowers will be featured. Enter the drawing for two adult coloring books — must be present to win! Coloring books donated by the library director.
Pioneer School: How Kids Lived in the Time of Laura Ingalls Wilder
Saturday, May 21, 1-2:30 p.m.
Join us for a fun “Pioneer School” afternoon. Local piano teacher and school teacher, Julie Frances Miller of Polk City, is a Laura Ingalls Wilder enthusiast. She will tell how the Ingalls family lived as pioneers in the late 1800s. This program is geared for children ages 5-12, but any ages are welcome. Kids will learn what it was really like to be a pioneer as they listen to Laura’s stories, make pioneer crafts, play pioneer games and eat a snack. Costumes (bonnets, straw hats, pioneer dresses, etc.) are optional. Contact the Polk City Library at 984-6119 to preregister for this fun event.
Family Movie Night – “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”
