Slater student helps design game at DMACC

DMACC Ankeny Campus students (left to right) Whitnee Gatson of Ankeny, Mackenzie Mapes of Des Moines, Carla Paris of Slater, Shane Wingert of Guthrie Center and Alyssa O’Brien-Emerick of Waukee play their “Cake-Task-It” game in Judy Hauser’s Interpersonal and Small Group Communications class. In order to demonstrate working cooperatively in small groups, the students were given an assignment to design a cooperative, rather than competitive, board game. In the end, all of the players have to end up at the same place, at the same time, in the same way.
