It was “back-to-school” time for the Collins-Maxwell students Monday. Facebook was exploding with back-to-school photos, but this one from Dawna and Denny Deakins caught my eye. They didn’t post their children’s photos, but rather their furry “children’s” photo - because they are celebrating having an “empty nest” this fall, with their youngest child having just moved out last week to start college.
Since everyone who knows me well knows that I love anything to do with animals, and especially dogs, this one is the winner in my book for Back-to-School photos!
And Monday’s fall-like temperatures also remind me to remind all of you that our Community Center Breakfasts will be starting back up in October! So stay tuned for more postings about that. Happy back-to-school everyone, parents, teachers, students and even pets!
Stopping at the Rock
On Sunday morning, this photo was snapped of a group of visitors, apparently involved in a car tour of some kind, stopping to see the Story County Freedom Rock. (Photo Submitted)
