Consumers Energy Recognized for Economic Development Efforts

Strengthening communities and fostering economic opportunities through local partnerships are priorities for Iowa’s rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. Iowa Area Development Group (IADG) annually recognizes their electric utility members for outstanding commitment, support and participation in business development projects and local community initiatives.

As a part of Central Iowa Power Cooperative’s annual meeting in Des Moines, Rand Fisher, IADG president, recognized Consumers Energy for its commitment to community and business development leadership. Consumers Energy is steadfastly committed to fostering economic growth through civic leadership, project participation and technical support.

“We commend Consumers Energy for the generous support they provide to economic development initiatives in both business and community development endeavors,” said Fisher. “They are generating a positive impact in the territory they serve and the state of Iowa.”

In recognition of IADG’s 30th Anniversary, a commemorative framed print was presented to Consumers Energy. This artwork was created to represent the outcome of three decades of economic development partnership and accomplishment, and to thank IADG’s utility partners for their contribution to this success in Iowa.

Consumers Energy is a rural electric cooperative committed to providing its members with reliable electric service in a safe manner at affordable and equitable rates. The cooperative serves over 5,500 members throughout five counties in Central Iowa: Jasper, Marshall, Polk, Story and Tama.
