Time for the big celebration!

Well, this weekend will be the BIG Old Settlers weekend; hope you are all ready for it. Since I never received much info from the committee in regards to the rides, I know there are going to be some rides down at the park, and they will be selling tickets at the park for them, so go on down Thursday night to check them all out.

The local 4-H group will be having some wet and wild fun over by the Freedom Rock area; sounds like a lot fun for the kids. On Saturday they can purchase a $5 wristband and play on some slip-n-slides, sprinklers, water balloon obstacle course. They can even paint their own miniature Freedom Rock.

The rodeo is, of course, going both Friday and Saturday nights, with a start time of 7:30 p.m. both nights.

For those that like to sit back and watch some softball, the “Old Timer’s Game” starts at noon this year, and right after that, the local Sunday leagues will each play one game against each other.

Sounds like a nice laid-back weekend, and the weather looks pretty nice - so far. I am submitting this on Monday, and we all know how our wonderful Iowa weather is. I hope everyone enjoys themselves doing something fun at the park this weekend, or just getting together with family. Any of those sounds like an Old Fashioned Fun weekend to me.
