Senior Variety Show to be held

The 20th Annual Senior Variety Show, “The Best is Yet to Come!” will be held Friday, Aug. 15, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 17, 2 p.m. at the Ames City Auditorium. The production features over 100 Story County performers who will celebrate aging through song, dance and humor. A train theme will invite the audience “All Aboard” for great entertainment, a celebration of 20 years and a sense of moving toward the future. Also joining in the festivities will be the Center Stage Tappers of Sioux City’s Senior Center, Active Generations.

Formerly named the Heartland Variety Show, this production has delighted audiences and raised over $160,000 for local senior projects since 1995. This year the show is proud to help support the Story County Freedom Flight 2014, to send veterans to Washington, D.C., in October. The show also will benefit the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) by supporting its Volunteer Transportation Program countywide.

Tickets are $10 in advance and are on sale at: Ben Franklin Store (Nevada); and RSVP/Story City Senior Center (Story City) and various Ames locations, 515-232-8294. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $12.
