Monthly Dance

The Heartland Senior Services Spring Dance will be from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at the Moose Family Center, North U.S. Highway 69 and West 190th Street in Ames. Kenny Frette and the Country Classic Band will perform. Admission is $6 each and all are welcome. Sponsorship for the dance is provided by Bethany Life. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Coloring Book Workshop

Join us on Wednesday, July 13, at 1 p.m. for Coloring Book Workshop, facilitated by Norma at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. Norma will also have a presentation on blending colors. Whether you‘re already a pro or trying it out for the first time, this workshop will be a great experience. Country Jam

Heartland Senior Services will host Country Jam from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. All are invited to come and enjoy good music and visit with friends. Admission is $3. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Heartland Senior Center Trivia Night

Heartland Senior Services’ next Community Trivia Night will be Friday, July 22, at City Church (formerly Oakwood Church), 2400 Oakwood Rd. in Ames, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Teams of five to eight people compete to answer questions about topics such as sports, movies, history, geography and current events. Each team is invited to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy throughout the night. Cost is $12 per person. Cash prizes for the top four teams and door prizes from local businesses will be awarded at the conclusion of the game.

The proceeds from the evening help Heartland Senior Services continue to provide needed countywide programs for seniors, administered through adult day care, activities, nutrition (congregate and home-delivered meals) and outreach.

Apple iPad Class

Want to learn about using your Apple iPad? This six –session course, instructed by volunteer Sam Wormley, will cover basic setup, operation, navigation, apps and accessories, etc. Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays (Aug. 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 31) from 9-10:30 a.m. at 1st National Bank (lower level), 405 Burnett Ave. in Ames.

The cost of the course is $30. Class size is limited to 12.
