Social Media Apps for You

Want to learn about using Facebook and Pinterest? This four–session course, instructed by volunteer Rhonda Schmaltz, will cover basic setup, operation, navigation, etc. Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays (June 13, 15 for Facebook and June 20 and 22 for Pinterest), from 9-10:30 a.m. at First National Bank (lower level) 405 Burnett Ave. Ames.

The cost of the course is $20. Limited space available. You must bring your own laptop, fully charged.

Monthly Dance

The Heartland Senior Services Spring Dance will be from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, at the Moose Family Center, North U.S. Highway 69 and West 190th St. in Ames. Our special band, Gaylin Sudik and Friends, will perform. Admission is $8 each and all are welcome. Sponsorship for the dance is provided by Bethany Life. For more information, call 515-233-2906.


Come join us on Wednesday, June 15, from 1-2:30 p.m. and play Bunco. Bunco is a dice game played with four people per table. Enjoy the fun – anyone can play!! No previous experience is needed. Prizes will be given for the most games, most buncos and least games. Cost per person is $3. If you are interested in playing, please contact Heartland Senior Services at 515-233-2906.

Country Jam

Heartland Senior Services will host Country Jam from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. All are invited to come and enjoy good music and visit with friends. Admission is $3. For more information, call 515-233-2906.

Coloring Book Workshop

Join us on Monday, June 20, at 1 p.m. for Coloring Book Workshop, facilitated by Norma at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. Whether you ‘re already a pro or trying it out for the first time, this workshop will be a great experience. You can bring your own coloring book and pencils or we can provide materials. No charge!
