The Collins-Maxwell football team had seven players receive all-district recognition from the district coaches in 8-man District 5.

Spartan seniors Brett Livesay and Kadin Bennett made the all-district team on offense and senior Simon McKinney and junior Rylee Scott were chosen on defense. Freshman Luke Huntrods, sophomore Kayden McKinney and senior John Kasper were all named honorable mention after helping Collins-Maxwell take third in the district with a 5-2 record.

Livesay led the entire state in receptions (91), receiving yards (1,545) and receiving touchdowns during the regular season. In district games he made 68 grabs for 1,104 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Bennett threw for 1,464 yards and 26 touchdowns with only four interceptions against district competition. He also ran for 520 yards and six touchdowns.

Simon McKinney finished with 62.5 tackles, three fumble recoveries and two sacks on defense. Scott tallied 33 tackles, 6.5 stops behind the line and 1.5 sacks.

Huntrods recorded 33.5 tackles and two interceptions and Kayden McKinney 33.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Kasper was injured for part of the season, but still ended up with 19.5 tackles and an interception.

Baxter quarterback Cole Damman was named the 8-man District 5 Offensive MVP and AGWSR linebacker Titan Opperman the Defensive MVP.

Damman threw for 1,746 yards and 29 touchdowns and ran for 1,206 yards and 22 scores on the season. Opperman made 79.5 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck Aiden Walters was named the Lineman MVP and the Rebels’ Eli Thede Special Teams MVP. Gladbrook-Reinbeck head coach John Olson was also named Coach of the Year after leading the Rebels to the district title with a 7-0 record.
