DES MOINES — The Collins-Maxwell volleyball team turned in a dominant performance on the road against a Class 5A school Sept. 5, sweeping Des Moines East in convincing fashion.


The Spartans trounced the Scarlets by scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-16. Collins-Maxwell had 20 kills against 12 errors in 87 attacks on offense, and turned in a strong serving night with 11 aces.


Jillian Holst finished with seven assists, four kills and two aces for Collins-Maxwell in the win. Reagan Franzen added six assists, four blocks, three kills, three digs and two aces.


Elise Robertson totaled five kills and Brailyn Tankersley four to lead a balanced Collins-Maxwell attack at the net. Robertson and Tankersley each added one block apiece and Robertson also chipped in an ace.


Brooke Christie tacked on three kills, two digs and an assist. Trinity Stover went 15 of 19 serving with two aces and added a kill, Angela Calkins picked up eight digs, Jaden Camp had three aces and two digs and Carrie Baldwin had an assist.
