WEBSTER CITY — The Ballard volleyball team came up short in both matches of a triangular meet with Webster City and North Polk Sept. 3.


The Bombers were swept by North Polk, 27-25 and 25-14. Statistics for that match were not available at press time.


Ballard was competitive in both sets against Webster City. The Lynx handed the Bombers 25-23 and 25-20 setbacks.


Ballard rallied from a 20-8 deficit to push Webster City to the limit in the first set.


In the match with Webster City Ava Ashworth came up with six kills and three digs and Carley Wilson had five kills and 10 digs for Ballard. Natalie Maher tacked on three kills and aces apiece and Cecilia Christensen two kills, two digs and a block.


Brynna Huen handed out 16 assists and came up with two kills and one dig versus Webster City. Molly Houge added 10 digs and Hailey Battani three in the back row and Aviah Taylor contributed one dig.


The two losses put Ballard at 0-4 on the season.
