WOODWARD - The Ballard girls’ golf team turned in a strong runner-up performance at the Woodward-Granger Invitational April 25 at the Woodward Golf Club.


The Bombers shot a 435 over 18 holes to beat Ogden and Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center by 10 strokes for second out of seven scored teams. Adel-Desoto-Minburn won with a 428.


Lauren Smith placed fourth overall after shooting an even 100 to lead Ballard. Emma Kielsmeier finished 11th individually with a 108, Maya Baker shot a 113 and Cassidy Thompson carded a 114 as the other Bomber golfers to finish with counted scores.


Megan Hadaway shot a 116 and Annika Catus a 130 to complete the varsity competition for Ballard.
