NEVADA - The Collins-Maxwell boys’ soccer team had one of those nights where nothing clicked in a 10-0 loss to Nevada April 25 at Cub Stadium in Nevada.

The Spartans gave up four goals in the first 20 minutes and never recovered. Nevada led 8-0 at the half and the Cubs put the game away early with two goals in the first six minutes of the second half.

“The score speaks for itself,” Collins-Maxwell head boys’ soccer coach Crystal Bruntz said. “They just didn’t come here to play.”

Brendyn Padget had nine saves at keeper for the Spartans in a losing effort.

Jose Buenrrostro put up three goals and one assist and Taylor Maiefski two goals and an assist for Nevada. Anthony Ellis and Kody Kruschwitz chipped in one goal and assist apiece; Devin See, Chase Lycke and Carlos Buenrrostro each scored once; and Ayden Rhodes added an assist for Nevada.

Collins-Maxwell fell to 0-8 with the loss. Nevada improved to 5-3.
