BAXTER - The Collins-Maxwell girls’ track team won six events and just missed out on the team championship at the Lady Bolt Relays April 18 in Baxter.


Collins-Maxwell won three individual events and claimed three relay titles, scoring 133.75 points. West Marshall beat the Spartans by a single point for first in the final standings out of eight teams.


“We ran a great meet tonight,” Collins-Maxwell head girls’ track coach Jerry Meinerts said. “Our girls competed extremely well and I’m proud of the way they warmed up, competed and finished each and every race.”


Alexis Houge won the 100-meter dash, Avery Fricke the 400 hurdles and Gracie Cheville the long jump for Collins-Maxwell. Fricke was also runner-up in the open 400 and Shasta Moody won silver in the 100 hurdles.


Houge completed the 100 in :13.55, Fricke ran a 1:13.80 in the 400 hurdles and Cheville won the long jump with a jump of 14 feet, four inches. Fricke’s open 400 time was 1:09.23 and Moody completed the 100 hurdles in :18.18.


Houge added a bronze medal in the 200 with a time of :28.55 and Cheville was third in the 100 hurdles with an :18.78 effort. Mikayla Houge took third in the 800 with a 2:51.31 showing.


Alexis Houge and Cheville joined Trinity Stover and Emma Kahler in winning the 4 X 400 relay with a time of 4:31.58. Josie Wierson and Jane’e Jones teamed up with Stover and Kahler to take first in the 4 X 200 with a 1:58.78 showing.


Collins-Maxwell’s quartet of Fricke, Cheville, Wierson and Moody won the shuttle hurdle in 1:15.30. Fricke, Stover, Jones and Alexis Houge were runner-up in the sprint medley after clocking in at 2:00.28.


Moody, Wierson, Kahler and Jones placed third in the 4 X 100 with a time of :55.08. Moody, Carrie Baldwin, Reagan Franzen and Mikayla Houge won bronze in the distance medley after finishing in 5:07.95.


Wierson added a fourth-place time of 1:21.47 in the 400 hurdles, Stover took fourth in the long jump with a 13-8.75 effort and Leah Davis also placed fourth in the high jump with a jump of 4-2. Jones ran a fifth-place time of :14.07 in the 100 and Baldwin, Davis, Karley Ruiz-Genovese and Janelle Newton placed fifth in the 4 X 800 with a 12:46.62 showing.
