BOONE — The Ballard volleyball team couldn’t capitalize on a strong second against Boone on Sept. 25 at Boone.
After suffering a 25-16 loss in the opening set, Ballard came back with a 25-18 win in the second. But Boone completely took over the next two sets, winning by decisive 25-12 and 25-13 scores to drop the Bombers to 1-4 in the Raccoon River Conference and 1-16 overall.
Ballard had 28 attack errors against 20 kills and only picked up one ace serve. The Bombers did well defensively at the net with 10 blocks, and they also tallied 40 digs as a team.
Carley Wilson had 10 digs, five kills and three blocks and Ava Ashworth tallied six kills and four digs for Ballard on the night. Aviah Taylor came up with five kills and four blocks and Natalie Maher tacked on two kills, three digs and two blocks.
Sarah Stolte delivered five digs and one kill, Karlee Ahrenholtz three digs and one ace, Molly Houge eight digs and Taiylor Wright one block. Brynna Huen finished with 22 assists and five digs and Hannah Elliott six assists and two digs.
