MAXWELL - The Collins-Maxwell volleyball team used a strong block and steady attack to sweep GMG Sept. 20 at Maxwell.

The Spartans recorded 32 kills and 13 blocks, scoring 25-19, 25-15 and 25-13 victories. The win put Collins-Maxwell at 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the Iowa Star Conference.

Collins-Maxwell finished with a .222 kill-efficiency rate. The Spartans also had 40 digs and five aces in the match.

Josie Wierson led Collins-Maxwell’s block parade with six and she also slammed home 15 kills and picked up three digs, one assist and one ace. Gracie Cheville delivered 12 kills, seven digs and one ace; Reagan Franzen 13 assists, five digs, three kills and two blocks; Trinity Stover four blocks and two digs; Brooke Christie one kill, three digs and two aces and Brailyn Tankersley one kill and block apiece.

Hannah Caple came up with 15 digs and one assist and Jillian Holst 10 assists, four digs and one ace. Jaden Camp chipped in one dig for the Spartans.
