MAXWELL - The Collins-Maxwell girls’ soccer team pulled off its second victory of the week with a 4-1 triumph over Prairie City-Monroe Friday at Maxwell.
Collins-Maxwell jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half. Cassy Berg netted both Spartan goals, and Tatum Tremain and Caitlyn Bruntz each had an assist.
PCM scored off a corner kick 15 minutes into the second half to get back in the game. But Collins-Maxwell took charge the rest of the way, with two goals from Bruntz enabling the Spartans to pull away.
Elise Robertson made two saves at keeper for Collins-Maxwell. The victory put the Spartans at 5-2 on the season.
CHARITON - Collins-Maxwell earned a 1-0 victory over Chariton in a double overtime at Chariton April 23.
Tatum Tremain scored an unassisted goal three minutes into the second extra period to give Collins-Maxwell the dramatic win. Tremain had seven shots on goal, Caitlyn Bruntz and Brooke Christie two apiece and Cassy Berg, Karlie Maxwell and Sophie Meyer each finished with one for the Spartans.
Collins-Maxwell keeper Elise Robertson made five saves to help her team keep Chariton off the board.
