Sharon K. "Sharry" Dickerson

Ames - Sharon K. "Sharry" Dickerson, 78, of Ames died August 12, 2021 at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 on Thursday at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Graveside services will be Friday at 11 am at Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Slater.

Sharry was born on March 26, 1943 in Slater, Iowa to Oscar and Neva (Mulvihill) Dahl. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater and attended school in Slater and graduated from Ballard High School. She worked at Iowa State and the Iowa Department of Transportation for 40 years, before retiring. Sharry moved to Ames in1984 from Story City and was a member of Christ the King Church. She was a red hat lady and enjoyed playing Bingo and Iowa State sports, especially basketball and football.

She is survived by her two sons, Doug (Mary Jo) McKinley of Jeffersonville, IN and Phil McKinley of Vicenza, Italy; two grandchildren, Sean and Kelly McKinley and three great grandchildren, Rylie, Kellen and Eleanor; and two sisters, Betty Price of Ames and Dorothy Will of Sioux City.

Sharry was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gene Dahl.
