Iowa State University Extension in Marshall County, in conjunction with Pilgrim Heights Camp and Retreat Center, will be hosting its first annual "Leading the Way" camp on July 28. This camp will be open to any child, grades seven-12, who have a desire to develop and improve upon skills in leadership, communication, team building, trust, collaboration and problem solving. Not only will this camp be beneficial and educational, but it will also be fun, with planned activities, such as various field games, boating and the challenge course. This will also be an excellent opportunity to gain experience that can help in the future with college scholarships and job applications.
Registration deadline is July 1. The cost of the camp is $80 per youth. This registration cost covers all activities, meals and camp supplies. Registration forms are available at the Iowa State University Extension office in Marshalltown, 2608 South Second St. Questions can be directed to Caleb Carver, county youth coordinator in Marshall County at 641-752-1551.
