Story County Farm Bureau board members Mike Kalsem and Clint Saveraid presented the Kelley Fire Department on Monday, April 7 and the Huxley Fire Department on Tuesday, April 15 with one each of the grain bin rescue tubes that was donated by funds being raised for the SCFB Agriculture project.
The following donors are being recognized for their contribution and support of this on-going project: Alison Carleton, DO, Alan Knaphus, Birchmier Precision Farming Service, Chet Ryan Mortuary, Daniel Hobt, DDS, Deanna R Ward, Farmers Cooperative, Heartland Cooperative, Hertz Farm Management, James and Frankee Oleson, James Wright, Sr., Jean Saveraid (in memory of Donald Hoss), Jim Oakes Farms, Key Cooperative, Land-O-Lakes, Longview Farms – Steve and Laurie Henry, M. These innovative rescue tubes are a necessary piece of emergency equipment when rescuing someone in an on-farm grain bin accident and they have the capability to increase the chances of a victim’s survival when entrapped in grain. It is the goal of the board to have these devices centrally located within the county and available to any rescue department that need them.
Thank you for your consideration and support of this very valuable grain bin rescue tube device. Donations are still being raised for this agricultural project for additional supplies for each fire department in our county.
