Collins Days Planning Meeting
There will be a meeting to coordinate Collins Days activities on Thursday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center.
Collins Days will be held June 28. The theme and Grand Marshal will be announced at this meeting. Many have indicated concern over accessibility, with the bridge closure reducing access to the town, but plans are continuing to be made to provide the same fun as in years past, depending on participation in the planning stages.
It has already been expressed that 4-H will again line up parade entrants, run a free petting zoo and provide the Hillbilly Relay games for children. The Collins Church has expressed desire to provide a dunk tank, sell sno-cones and have a "kiddie duck pond." The annual tractor rides will also be scheduled, as well as possibly a tractor display from the Collins Duffers group. The Collins-Maxwell High School chorus will perform before lunch, which will be served by the Collins Library, and a barbecued chicken dinner will be offered by the Collins Lions Club.
If there is a specific activity that you’d like to assist with, please feel free to join the meeting to help plan our annual festival. The Lions Club has previously facilitated the planning, but all are welcome to attend.
Wright Learning Center Open House
Please come celebrate the addition of the Wright Learning Center to the Collins Library by attending an Open House scheduled for Saturday, June 21, from 1-3 p.m.
Town Garage Sale
The Collins-wide Area Garage Sale is June 7, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
