Story County’s total number of positive COVID-19 tests rose by 10 as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to state health officials.

No additional deaths were reported in the county as of Tuesday morning. To date, a total of 11 county residents have died as a result of the virus, according to the state.

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, a total of 1,056 residents had tested positive for COVID-19, which is an increase of 10 cases over a 24-hour-span. Of those who have tested positive in the county, 750 residents have recovered from the virus, according to data from Iowa’s coronavirus website.

In Story County, state health officials reported that Accura Healthcare of Ames — which was identified by the state as having an outbreak in early July — has a total of 51 positive cases as of Tuesday, which is an increase of two cases since Monday. Of those who have tested positive from the virus at the facility, 17 individuals have recovered, according to Iowa’s coronavirus website.

As of Tuesday morning, a total of 11,581 Story county residents have been tested for the novel coronavirus, according to state data.

Across Iowa, seven additional deaths were reported on Tuesday, bringing the state’s death total to 836.

As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, an additional 253 confirmed had been reported by state health officials, bringing the total of positive cases in Iowa to 42,738.

Of those who have tested positive for the virus, a total of 30,508 Iowans have recovered from COVID-19.
