Dog days of summer: The Prairie Festival marks the “end of summer” and the beginning of fall in central Iowa. Wayne Rimathe, of Slater Auto Co., and man’s best friend maneuver the parade route as the shiny paint reflects the parade crowd.
Sand volleyball was one of several sporting contests throughout Prairie Fest.
Kids games/activities: “Don’t pop!” The local Cub Scouts had several learning activities for area kids.
Community Band and Chorus performed Saturday afternoon to a large crowd.
Food vendors: Brick City was one of the most popular food vendors during Prairie Fest. At one point, they had to close temporarily to restock.
