July 3: Officer was asked to check the welfare of a male resident at the 100 block of Water Street. Contact was made and the resident was not in need of assistance.
July 7: Officer received an assault complaint at the 200 block of Water Street. The investigation is ongoing.
July 8: Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in front of East Elementary. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Huxley man, was suspended from driving. He was cited and released with a court date for Driving Under Suspension.
July 9: Officers responded to a structure fire at the 100 block of Sixth Street. Two homes were damaged. No injuries. Officers responded to a suspicious person/trespass complaint at the 100 block of Fifth Street. Officer located a Nevada woman hiding on the property. She was arrested for trespass and transported to the Story County Jail. A 48-year-old Nevada man fled the scene and was later arrested for Trespass and Violation of a No contact order after a warrant was requested.
July 23: Officer received a theft complaint at the Methodist Church. Several cans that were stored in a trailer that were used to raise funds had been taken the night prior. Investigation is ongoing.
Huxley officers had four arrests for the month; two were for trespass, one was for violation of a no contact order and one for Driving Under Suspension. Huxley officers received 16 calls for the month and had a total of 75 contacts. Officers used 20.5 hours toward investigations and provided 99 hours of general patrol.
