Iowa Gardening for Good is a recipient of a Theisen’s More for Your Community award from the Ames location. After an independent review of more than 462 worthy applications, Theisen’s is honored that our request to support this volunteer garden, near Madrid, was funded in the amount of $2,500. Iowa Gardening for Good was one of about a dozen projects funded in the Ames area. Last season, Iowa Gardening for Good was able to produce and donate over 160,000 pounds to food banks and food pantries in Iowa. More than 1,200 volunteers helped plant and harvest the produce. The money awarded will help with programming for the next growing season.
