As I mentioned last week, Maxwell will be very busy in October — every weekend will have something going on.

So this weekend we will have the MACC busy on Sunday with the monthly breakfast fundraiser. This month’s group is our local EMS team cooking up all your favorites, serving 7-10 a.m.

Free-will donation and you will certainly get your bellies filled up!

The previous weekend our local firefighters helped deliver some pizzas to local residents, and also checked their smoke detectors; this was part of Fire Prevention Week. Teaming up with Casey’s and Pal’s Fieldhouse, the firefighters took orders on Saturday night, and then if a home was in need of new batteries for their smoke detectors, they replaced them free of charge. The kids, of course, thought it was cool to have firemen deliver their pizza!

Get ready for the following week to have the firefighters cook you breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 27.

This will be their annual fundraiser to help out Santa with his candy sacks at Christmas time when he visits Maxwell.
