So far this spring, Alleman has collected 154.33 pounds of bags and is in the top 5 of the Metro Waste Authority contest to see which city collects the most pounds of bags. Last year, the little community won and earned a bench that sits outside of City Hall. Residents are asked to help the community get a second win. There are four days left (until April 30) to drop bags off at Alleman City Hall. Bring a bag full of bags and receive a free reusable tote from Metro Waste Authority. Pictured here (from left) are: Councilwomen Arlene Sampson, Councilman Perry Smith, Mayor Carmella Jones, Councilman David Wilcox, Councilman John Hathaway, Councilman Bill Stevens and Alleman City Clerk Shari Buehler. Alleman residents are also asked to take part in the April 28 Walk With The Mayor activity and the citywide garage sales, coming up June 2, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Photo Contributed
