The Republican Party of Story County announced that Governor Kim Reynolds will be a featured speaker at its upcoming eighth annual Judge Joseph Story Dinner. Former Congressman Tom Latham will be attending as the evening’s “Guest of Honor.” The event will be keynoted by former Utah Congressman and Fox News Contributor Jason Chaffetz. Congressman Chaffetz’s new book, “The Deep State,” was released on Sept. 18.
This special dinner will take place at Gateway Hotel and Conference Center on Wednesday, Sept. 26, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
Jason Chaffetz was elected to Congress in 2008 and served until 2017. He was selected by his peers to be a Chairman of the powerful Oversight & Government Reform Committee. Congressman Tom Latham represented the Ames area during his many years in Congress.
“Congressman Latham has a lot of friends from his many years of service to Story County,” explained Story County GOP Chair Brett Barker. “We are looking forward to having the opportunity to catch up with Congressman Latham at this year’s Judge Joseph Story Dinner.”
The dinner is an annual tradition to celebrate Judge Joseph Story. Judge Story served on the United States Supreme Court from 1811-1845 and is the namesake of Story County.
