JEWELL – The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter volleyball team finished the regular season with a loss at South Hamilton Oct. 17.

The Raiders were swept by scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-22 to fall to 11-10 overall and finish 3-6 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.

CMB struggled with its attack all match. The Raiders only had 19 kills against 20 errors in 70 attacks for a minus-.014 kill-efficiency rate.

CMB also finished with only two blocks on the night. The Raiders did do a solid job serving, racking up nine aces on a 42 of 48 effort.

Seniors Abbie Haupert and Katie Ziesman both had five kills for CMB in the loss. Haupert also had eight digs, four blocks, one assist and one ace and Ziesman added four digs and two aces.

Alex Hlavacek came through with three kills and digs apiece; Abbey Appelgate picked up eight digs, two kills, two assists and one ace and Payge Jurgens recorded three aces, two kills and two digs.

Mackenzie Schmitz dished out 12 assists and also led CMB in digs with 15. Bekah Pearson finished with 10 digs, Toni Spencer put up four digs and one kill and Hannah McWhirter compiled two aces for the Raiders.
