GREENFIELD – The Ballard boys’ soccer team continued its hot streak with an 8-2 road victory over Nodaway Valley Friday at Greenfield.
The Bombers showed tremendous balance in getting goals from seven different players. A solid defensive effort helped Ballard blow the game open and cruise to its fourth straight victory.
Wade Stocksleger scored two goals in the victory. Spencer Struve chipped in one goal and assist apiece.
Calvin Jones, Brandon Kane, Adam Silberstein, Trevor Thompson and Conner VanMaureen netted one goal apiece for Ballard. The victory put the Bombers at 5-5 on the season.
Dallas Kreager and Nate Venteicher each put up one goal in a losing effort for Nodaway Valley.
ALLEMAN – Ballard was able to slip past non-conference rival North Polk for a 2-1 victory May 15 in Alleman.
The Bombers gave up 13 shots, but keeper Alex Silberstein and the Ballard defense only had one slip up to help their team win its third game in a row.
Brandon Kane and Conner VanMaureen each scored an unassisted goal for Ballard on the night. Craig Fourez scored off an assist from Corey Richards to account for North Polk’s only goal.
