Win over PCM puts Ballard at 5-3

MONROE – The Ballard girls’ soccer team picked up its fifth win of the season with a 4-1 road triumph over Prairie City-Monroe May 7.

Rachel Watters scored two goals, Abby McGee and Sarah Neal each added one and Emily Knittel dished out two assists for Ballard in the win. Bomber keeper Maggie Raes made two saves in 20 minutes and Olivia Bartholomew had eight saves in 60 minutes to help Ballard improve to 5-3 on the season.

Krisha Houseman scored PCM’s lone goal and it came off a McKinzie Tjaden assist. Mustang keeper Taylor Davenport made 14 saves.

HUXLEY – Ballard didn’t have much go its way in a 6-1 home loss to Perry April 30.

Abby McGee had an unassisted goal to account for Ballard’s only score. Bomber keeper Maggie Raes made five saves in a losing effort.

Taylor Hoffman scored four goals to lead Perry. Glenda Cruz and Sarah Lazenby added another for the Mustangs.
