HUXLEY – The Ballard girls’ golf team did just enough to get past Adel-Desoto-Minburn on a pleasant afternoon at the Ballard Golf and Country Club Tuesday.

The Bomber girls shot a 198 as a team over nine holes to edge out ADM’s score of 201 for the win. The Bombers had two golfers shoot under 50 and all four of their counted scores were under 55.

Shelby Petersen had another strong outing as the lead golfer for the Bomber girls. Petersen carded a 46 to earn medalist honors.

Ballard also produced the medalist runner-up. Madison Houge ended up just one stroke in back of Petersen with a round of 47.

Charcey Petersen shot a 51 and Kelcie Bohning recorded a 54 as the other scored golfers for Ballard. Mikayla Kaldenberg and Kaylee Klunder also participated for the Bombers and they shot respective rounds of 65 and 67.

AMES – Ballard tied for second place at the Gilbert Invitational Monday at the Ames Golf and Country Club.

Ballard shot a 210 over nine holes to finish in a dead heat with Roland-Story for second out of five teams. Nevada won the team championship with a score of 190, South Hamilton was fourth with a 241 and Gilbert shot a 252.

Shelby Petersen turned in the best individual score for Ballard. Petersen finished third overall with a solid round of 47.

Madison Houge carded a 52, Kelcie Bohning shot a 55 and Charcey Petersen recorded a 56 as the other scored Bomber golfer.

Nevada’s Christine Ausman was the meet’s medalist with a 44 and her younger sister Claire was runner-up with a 46.
