NEVADA - The Ballard volleyball team had a tough time putting things together at the Nevada Invitational Saturday.


The Bombers went 0-4 in the tournament. The four losses dropped Ballard t0 1-15 on the season.


Ballard put up a great fight against Carlisle before dropping both sets by respective scores of 21-18 and 21-15.


The Bombers also played well against Norwalk, losing a 21-19 battle in the first set and suffering a 21-12 setback in the second.


Nevada and West Marshall both overpowered Ballard. The Bombers were dealt 21-8 and 21-10 setbacks in both matches.


Carley Wilson had 12 kills and 11 digs and Karlee Ahrenholtz 29 digs, three aces and two kills for Ballard during the tournament. Brynna Huen finished with 29 assists, seven digs, one ace and one block and Hannah Elliott seven assists, five digs and one kill, block and ace apiece.


Ava Ashworth tacked on eight digs, three kills, one block and one ace and Sarah Stolte nine digs, three kills and an assist. Taiylor Wright recorded four digs and kills apiece, Natalie Maher six kills and four aces and Molly Houge five digs.


HUXLEY - Ballard played well in the middle set, but struggled in the first and third in a loss to Adel-Desoto-Minburn Sept. 18 at Huxley.


Ballard was swept by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-10, falling to 1-4 in the Raccoon River Conference.


The Bombers had only seven kills and 28 errors in 84 attacks in the loss.


Ballard picked up four aces on 30 of 35 serving and and totaled 41 digs and three blocks.


Carley Wilson delivered 10 digs and three kills, Karlee Ahrenholtz 11 digs and one ace and Ava Ashworth four digs, three kills, two blocks and one ace. Brynna Huen had seven digs and an ace, Molly Houge four digs and Sarah Stolte three digs, one kill and an ace.


Natalie Maher tacked on two digs and Cecilia Christensen one block for the Bombers.
