GRINNELL - Ballard and North Polk ended their seasons by placing sixth and 10th, respectively, out of 12 schools during the Class 3A regional girls’ golf meet at the Oakland Acres Golf Club in Grinnell.


Ballard shot a 413 and North Polk a 447 over 18 holes.


Grinnell and Gilbert were the two state-qualifying teams from Grinnell after turning in the top two scores at 327 and 333 respectively.


Lauren Smith led Ballard with a 98. Brandelle McGinn carded a 100, Alle Echer a 101 and Ana Vier a 114 to account for the Bombers’ other counted scores.


Cassidy Thompson and Maya Baker also competed for Ballard, shooting a 121 and 125 respectively.


Nora Aschoff also carded a 98 as the top individual performer for North Polk. Grace Bowker shot a 115, Katie Scott a 116 and Elly Parker a 118 to complete the Comet scoring.


Gilbert’s Britta Snyder was the meet medalist with a 69, and Grinnell’s Alisha Ford medalist runner-up with a 75.


Gilbert’s Katie Jenkins and Alli Austin turned respective scores of 81 and 84, Grinnell’s Bella Amador-Lacson, Maddie Schrack and Madison Elliott shot a 77, 87 and 88 respectively and Perry’s Alyssa Kruger also turned in an 88 as the individual state qualifiers from the meet.
