JEWELL - The North Polk girls’ golf team took fifth at the South Hamilton Invitational at the Jewell Golf and Country Club May 10.


North Polk finished with an 18-hole score of 434. The Comets had two golfers shoot under 100.


Nora Aschoff shot two nine-hole rounds of 47 to finish with a 94 as the top golfer for North Polk. Grace Bowker carded a 99 with rounds of 47 and 52.


Katie Scott scored a 115 with nine-hole scores of 60 and 55. Elly Parker turned in a 126 with rounds of 61 and 65.


Gilbert won the meet with a 344. The Tigers’ Britta Snyder and Katie Jenkins were medalist and medalist runner-up with respective scores of 69 and 84.
