BOONE - The Ballard boys’ soccer team earned its second shutout victory of the season Monday with a 5-0 triumph over Boone at Boone.


The Bombers put constant pressure on Boone with 37 shots. Ballard keeper Zach Zeller made five saves to help his team go to 3-8 on the season.


Frankie Munson and Sam Paulin each had one goal and assist apiece to lead a balanced Bomber attack. Corey Fleener, Andre Hahn and E.J. Knight each added one goal and James Gute and Maverick Davies dished out one assist apiece.


HUXLEY - Ballard was unable to mount an effective offensive attack in a 6-0 loss to Winterset Saturday at Rich Strouse Field in Huxley.


The Bombers only had seven shots, falling to 2-8 on the season. Corey Fleener and Perry Kallio finished with three shots apiece and Sam Paulin had one.


Zach Zeller made six saves and Obi Soash had four, splitting time at keeper for Ballard.


GREENFIELD - Ballard was clicking in all phases against Nodaway Valley May 11 in Greenfield as the Bombers earned their second victory of the season with a 5-0 shutout.


Ballard totaled 18 shots on offense in the victory. Corey Fleener scored two goals and Landon Fortner, Sam Paulin and Caleb Purcell chipped in one apiece for the Bombers.


Zach Zeller and Obi Soash split time at keeper and they received great support from the Ballard defense to earn the team’s first shutout win of the season.
